Nithya is a DPhil student in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government. Her research lies at the intersection of development and labor economics, examining taste-based and productivity-related barriers to the employment of persons with disabilities in developing countries. Before joining Oxford, she spent four years at the World Bank, working on private sector development, jobs and entrepreneurship, foreign direct investment, and disaster risk financing issues across Central Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Originally from India, she holds a Master’s in International Development Economics from Yale University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Miranda House, University of Delhi.
