Jack is completing his DPhil in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government as a Blavatnik-Nuffield Scholar. His research focuses on (un)employment and social protection in developing countries, with particular interest in how social and political norms affect labour force participation.
Before coming to Oxford, Jack worked as Senior Research Associate at J-PAL Africa, where he supported evaluations of labour market interventions. Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Jack studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the University of Cape Town and International Development at the London School of Economics & Political Science.
