GLOBAL POVERTY RESEARCH GROUP

The GPRG is an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded research group aiming to enhance the value of individual research by providing collaborative infrastructure and facilitating active partnerships with the research user community

ABOUT GPRG

Update: The GPRG programme is now being continued under new funding programmes at the Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE) at the University of Oxford, and the Global Development Institute (GDI) at the University of Manchester.

Researchers within the GPRG are undertaking a wide range of research, the most important elements of which can be found on this web site. The research is organised around five themes and details of the projects under each theme are given below.

This research links closely with other research programmes being undertaken both at CSAE and the GDI (formerly IDPM) and links to those research programmes are provided. The broad objective of the research is to extend understanding of how poverty can be best understood and reduced using a variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches.
