The CSAE Economic Development in Africa Workshop was a four day event (taking place prior to the main CSAE Conference) for funded participants.

This year's workshop was hosted by the School of Economics at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. The event included presentations from conference speakers, J-PAL Africa training sessions on running randomised control trials by Clare Hofmeyr, introductory sessions to structural transformation and growth by Doug Gollin and Joe Kaboski, and sessions on survey design and data collection for gender analysis by Cheryl Doss.
