Christian Johannes Meyer is a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College and the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford. In addition to his academic work, Christian is a Labor Economist with the World Bank’s Social Protection & Jobs Global Practice. At the World Bank, he co-leads a research program on industrial labor in Ethiopia. Before his PhD, Christian worked with the World Bank’s Development Research Group, the Center for Global Development and the UN Conference on Trade and Development.

Christian’s research interest lies at the intersection of development, labor, and behavioral economics. Most of his work uses laboratory and field experiments in close cooperation with partner organizations, combined with original data collection. His fieldwork currently focuses on Ethiopia.
