Claire is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working jointly with CSAE and Young 1ove, a youth-focused NGO in Botswana. Claire’s work is at the intersection of development and behavioral economics. She has conducted research on gender inequality, social protection, and education with the World Bank and Innovations for Poverty Action. Previously, she was an economist at the Australian Agency for International Development. Claire received her DPhil from Oxford's Blavatnik School of Government, her Masters from Georgetown University, and her BA in Economics and International Relations from the University of Sydney and Honours from the Australian National University.

Claire’s postdoctoral fellowship is funded by the UKRI GCRF Accelerating Achievement for Africa’s Adolescents Hub.

Research

Claire’s research is focused on understanding how to successfully scale interventions in health and education. Another strand of research is focused on understanding the social and behavioral frictions in decision-making that contribute to gender inequality.
