Dr Boyé Gnandé Roméo holds a doctorate in economics from the Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Cocody (Abidjan). He has 17 years of professional experience in the field of economic research. He is a permanent researcher at the Ivorian Centre for Economic and Social Research (CIRES). At CIRES, he is deputy head of the macroeconomics and modelling research unit, also a member of the Gender and Development Unit of the said structure and also secretary general of the human resources and poverty reduction research unit. He is a specialist in macroeconomics and modelling. He has worked on several themes in economics, including investment, currency, international trade, demographic dividend, taxation, public debt, public spending and migration. His areas of expertise include macroeconomic analysis, sector analysis, prospective, impact assessment, modelling, econometrics and local development. A specialist in macroeconomic issues, he was a researcher at the CIRES Economic Policy Analysis Unit (CAPEC). He was also a consultant at ENSEA on the study of the cashew nut sector, a consultant in a statistics office as coordinator of a study commissioned by the ILO on the skills needs of four strategic branches in Côte d’Ivoire. He has also worked on topics related to the exchange rate regime, the real exchange rate and economic growth in WAEMU. He was deputy technical coordinator on the theme "Governance and economic management" on behalf of CIRES as part of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) project. Also, consultant for the same structure on the success of AfCFTA. He has done a lot and participated in the production of several economic studies for international institutions such as the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), the International Labour Office (ILO), the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) ECOWAS and the Embassy of South Korea in Côte d'Ivoire.
