Biography

Ana is a Doctoral Student in the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford. Her doctoral research focuses on the role of network effects in expanding the reach of voter education campaigns. Using data from a field experiment conducted in Mozambique during the 2009 elections, she is trying to estimate the effects of interpersonal influence within the household, and the reinforcement and diffusion network effects at the village level. She completed the MPhil at Oxford in 2009 and she holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Porto, Portugal (2002). Before commencing her graduate studies at Oxford, she worked in Porto both as a tax consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a teaching assistant at the Portuguese Catholic University.
