Biography

Abhijeet is reading for a DPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford. He has a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford. He used Young Lives data on the evaluation of the Midday Meals Scheme in India for his MSc dissertation, for which he won the Luca D’Agliano Prize for the Best Extended Essay in the MSc programme. Prior to rejoining Oxford and Young Lives in October 2010, Abhijeet worked for two years as a Senior Economist in the statistical office of the Government of Southern Sudan under the auspices of the Overseas Development Institute Fellowship Programme. At Young Lives, Abhijeet supports the Young Lives team with data analysis for various outputs, including policy papers and the country reports.  

Research Interests: Applied micro-economics; economics of education; health economics; programme evaluation.
