Biography

Dr. Christopher Ksoll is a research officer at the Centre for the Study of African Economies, Department of Economics, University of Oxford, under the research programme on ‘Transforming economic policies towards the poor’, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He holds an economics degree from the University of Mannheim, Germany and a PhD in economics from Yale University.

His research interests are mainly in the micro-economics of development, in particular family networks and insurance, the impact of orphanhood and HIV/AIDS educational outcomes of orphans, as well as the transformative powers of information technology for rural markets.
