Biography
Markus is an ESRC Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Economics, having completed his DPhil at Oxford in 2009. Prior to coming to Oxford for the MPhil in Economics he was engaged in a research project on sourcing strategies in manufacturing in China (2002-2004, School of Management, Bath University). He pursued his first degree in Modern Chinese Studies at the University of Freiburg, People’s University of China and the University of Leeds, and holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of East Anglia. His DPhil work focused on growth empirics in the context of a dual economy model, applied to cross-country macro datasets. His research interests include empirical productivity analysis at the macro and micro levels, panel time series econometrics and cross-section correlation in panels.
