CSAE and St Antony's College
Biography
Stefano is a DPhil candidate in economics at the University of Oxford, St Antony's College. He also holds a BA in philosophy, politics and economics and an MPhil in economics from the same university. Before starting his doctoral studies, he worked for two years on disaster and food security issues as an ODI fellow in the Ministry of Agriculture of Ethiopia. His current work focuses on how social networks mediate transitions in the labour market and can result in poverty persistence, with the view of producing empirically founded insights that may inform new designs for social protection programmes. Much of this work is focused on Ethiopia. Stefano has also researched the formation of social networks in rural Ghana and the impacts of land titling programmes in Peru, and has been involved in a number of data collection projects.
